Missed the Web Forum in Greece? Now available to Watch (only gr)

On November the 23rd 2020, the Sivitanidios Public School of Trades and Vocations and the Small Enterprises’ Institute of the Hellenic Confederation of Professionals, Craftsmen and Merchants - IME GSEVEE, leader and one of the partners respectively of the METVET - Joint Higher VET Course in the Metal Sector project organised the Greek Web-forum with the main aim of presenting in an interactive way the actions and the project's outcomes, while enabling a discussion round about the activities, methodology, planned outcomes, efficiency of the project.

Over 75 participants from companies and small / medium business in the field of aluminium and steel constructions, schools, teachers, industry experts, relevant federations / associations, certification bodies as well as other project partners attended this Web-forum through the ZOOM online platform.

During this 2-hour event, representatives from the Sivitanidios Public School of Trades and Vocations as well as the Small Enterprises’ Institute of the Hellenic Confederation of Professionals, Craftsmen and Merchants - IME GSEVEE presented the overall project and partnership with a focus on the professional (qualification) profile & a core curriculum (EQF 5) and the common qualification standard (according to ISO/IEC17024) for evaluation & certification.

These presentations were followed by a round table of discussions, which specifically started on the topic of metal construction field in Greece. Participants gave their opinion about the extensive need in the labour market for experienced craftsmen in the field of metal construction when at the present time there is no dedicated school or training at no level producing these kinds of craftsmen. Discussions took place around the METVET project and its potential in the current level of programs, professional profiles, curriculums and certificate regulations on the specialty of the aluminium manufacturer.

Notable participants included among others: Ms. Olga Kafetzopoulou, VET & Apprenticeship expert and Supervisor of the General Secretariat for VET & Lifelong Learning of the Greek Ministry of Education, Ms. Maria Kapniari, Project Manager in the General Secretariat for VET & Lifelong Learning of the Greek Ministry of Education, Ms. Olga Papakyriakou, Greek VET Ambassador at the European Commission, Mr. Antzinas Nikolaos, 2nd Vice President of the Manpower Employment Organisation - OAED and Ms. Ganakou Ellie, General Manager at Aluminium Association of Greece

The Web-forum’s main output is linked to the WP 6, the dissemination of the METVET project on the Greek national level.
